may 8 through may 11 has been the South By South Bend Music Festival (SBSB). four days, sixty bands, 15 venues. i volunteered to sell tickets and merchandise. i went to see some very talented musicians and incredible bands since i love music. in between some of the shows, i went to see the touring broadway production of west side story. one of my most favorite movie musicals, and one of the most impressive stage shows i have seen recently. i love music!

Then and Now
it was vintage downtown. south bend's first friday was a celebration of old and new. the state theater was having a showing of knute rockne all american, the first time since it ran at the theater since it's star studded premiere in 1940. one of the events was to recreate a picture taken during the premiere of the street outside the movie house. i participated in the updated picture, holding the letter b for the #wearesouthbend tagline. it was cool to become part of south bend's history. the event was broadcast on the news and noted in the local papers.
premiere
recreation (i'm the b)
i made the front page of the newspaper!
