In Full Effect
Winter is definitely here for a while. Cold, Snow, Cold, Snow, Cold, Snow. You all know how much I enjoy the gloom. Hibernation is very appealing. You all know how much I enjoy the nap. It's a good thing I have a Florida trip in the near future to warm myself. The extent of Winter weather so far has included record-breaking temperatures, just yesterday, South Bend bottomed out at -15, easily besting the previous record low of -11 set in 1928. The last time it was this cold in South Bend was December 19, 2016, when it was -14. That was also a new record low. The city hasn't recorded a temperature above 32 degrees since December 22nd. Through January 1, South Bend has seen 33.5 inches of snow. The city saw 42.4 inches for the entire 2016-17 winter season. There is a Winter weather advisory for the next 48 hours, expected snow amounts are between 4 and 10 inches. It is snowing as I write this. Yay Winter!

Road Tripping Pt X
Shane and I spent the day exploring Albuquerque. First we went to the Petroglyph National Monument at Boca Negra Canyon and walked the trails looking at the 100 petroglyphs at the site. We stopped for an authentic New Mexican lunch then headed over to the Historic Old Town to browse the shops and walk the square. We traveled around the city checking out neighborhoods, and ended the evening at Sandia Peak on the Eastern edge of town to watch the sunset.

Road tripping Pt V
We slept in until 8:00AM. Enjoyed the continental breakfast at the hotel before getting ourselves ready and heading out the door. We arrived in Salt Lake City shortly before 1:30PM. Our hotel was located near Downtown SLC, so once we checked in, dropped off our luggage, we were on our way to explore SLC. We walked around the Temple Square, grabbed a bite to eat at a Middle Eastern restaurant, explored the Capitol building, browsed shops, and lounged at the hotel for an hour afterward. We then got in the car and drove around the SLC to some of the other neighborhoods with shops and restaurants. After nightfall, we headed up into the mountains to overlook the city.
