Road Tripping Pt XIV
Once we checked out of the hotel, Shane and I drove over to the Capitol Building in Jefferson City, Missouri. We wandered around both outside and inside, snapping pictures. From there we drove to Springfield, Illinois to check out the Capitol there. After spending time browsing around, we decided that the call of home was too great to ignore and our final destination of this epic journey became home. 14 days, 13 states, 5016 miles, 41 magnets, 3517 photos. Great vacation.

Road Tripping Pt XIII
Route 66 passes briefly through the State of Kansas, 13 miles through the towns of Galena, Riverton, and Baxter Springs. After we left Bartlesville, we drove over to the portion of the Mother Road through Kansas. Then we headed to Quapaw, Oklahoma to where Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma meet. Shane and I followed Route 66 into Missouri, through Joplin and other towns along the way. We stopped in Springfield, Missouri for something to eat and then made our way to Jefferson City, Missouri, our stop for the night.

Road Tripping Pt XII
The Price Tower is a nineteen-story, 221-foot-high tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. It was built in 1956 to a design by Frank Lloyd Wright. It is the only realized skyscraper by Wright. It was commissioned by Harold Price, for use as corporate headquarters for his oil and chemical company. In 2000 the building was donated to Price Tower Arts Center, and it has multi-use tenants. Price Tower Arts Center, a museum of art, architecture, and design; Inn at Price Tower; Copper Restaurant + Bar, and the Wright Place museum store. This is our next destination along the road. We headed out from Amarillo following Old Route 66, stopping in towns like Shamrock, Texas; Elk City, Oklahoma; Clinton, Oklahoma; and Bridgeport, Oklahoma. Once we arrived in Bartlesville, we checked into the hotel, then headed out to grab a bite to eat and explore the town.
