hibernation

winter is going on.  cold temperatures, snow, gloomy days.  going about my days one at a time.  beginning the process of taking down the christmas trees and decorations.  starting a restoration project on an old coffee table.  watching tv, attempting to read, listening to music.  basically distracting myself from the doldrum of winter.  each day brings warmth, spring, closer.

harvest

today i was able to eat an ear of corn from my very own garden.  i have been growing corn for years with varying success, but have never been able to dine on my own garden vegetables.  tomorrow night will be another feast from the havover valley farm.
