Europa - Polska Part II: Auschwitz - Birkenau

Early morning we boarded a bus to Oświęcim, a town in the Lesser Poland province of southern Poland, situated 50 kilometres west of Kraków, near the confluence of the Vistula and Soła rivers for a guided tour of the Auschwitz concentration/extermination camp.  It was extremely busy that day, so you didn't have time to dwell on what you were seeing, and it wasn't until afterward that the magnitude of what we saw sunk in.  Once back in Kraków, we headed to the train station to buy tickets to our next destination, which we would be going to the next morning, then we went back through Old Town and the Market Square.
